The need to produce more with less is causing our field to attempt to increase efficiency through new innovative methods. Regardless of the change initiative, organizational leaders frequently find that one of the greatest barriers to implementation is resistance from their own team. In this workshop, the presenter will explain a change management model that has been used by leading behavioral health organizations nationwide. Attendees will gain an understanding of the principles of effective change management and tips for implementing those principles. The methods for inspiring a desire to change, promoting accountability, and encouraging collaboration will be discussed with attendees, who will also gain insight into the barriers to change and methods for coping with this aspect of human nature.
