This workshop will provide insight into how to promote an organization’s good works and great results, as well as making the biggest impact with a small marketing budget. Attendees will learn about strategies, those that are tried and true and those currently emerging, that can save time, effort, and money on marketing and communications. They will also hear about how to improve the delivery of key messages to donors, grant makers, volunteers, staff, board members, media outlets, and other target audiences. Presenters will explain how to choose an annual thematic design for use in all agency publications to increase efficiency; how to achieve key visual messages that are professional and sophisticated, without appearing extravagant and wasteful; how to leverage in-house communications resources; knowing when to outsource projects; and the importance of cultivating strong vendor relationships.
Shunney H.C. Nair, senior vice president for development and communications, and Greg Rutzen, communications specialist, Family Services of Greater Houston
