Dan M. Aune

Senior Consultant
OPEN MINDS

Dan M. Aune, MSW, OPEN MINDS Senior Consultant, offers clients a wealth of clinical supervision, administrative, program supervision, and development experience. Before joining OPEN MINDS, Mr. Aune served as the Director of Gallatin Mental Health Center in Bozeman, Montana. In this role, he provided leadership, management, and development of a community-based mental health delivery systems serving three southwest Montana counties. He was instrumental in initiating corrections based services and developing consumer recovery programming. Mr. Aune also participated on state and national advocacy groups to develop a recovery-based service delivery system and developed programming material appropriate to the needs of community mental health services. He is currently the board chair for Mental Health America of Montana and serves on the Montana Healthcare Reform Council on the invitation of United States Senator Baucus.

Mr. Aune was the Pediatric Services/Clinic & Clinician Supervisor at PRAIRIE St. John’s in Fargo, North Dakota. In that role, he was responsible for the delivery of pediatric psychiatric and substance abuse services to both inpatient and partial hospital programming. He also managed Clinic & Clinician services within the hospital and clinic environment extending across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. In his role as Lead Community Liaison at Prairie Psychiatric Center in Fargo, Mr. Aune provided marketing, business development and community relations to a five-state area (North
Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and Iowa) and developed marketing strategies for private psychiatric and addiction services.

Since 1998, Mr. Aune has provided consulting and training for the Dream Catcher Institute North America that offers education, business, corrections, and health care settings regarding lead management to enhance quality and employee team efforts and to Native American tribes. Mr. Aune received his Bachelors of Sociology/Social Work from Montana State University and his Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver.
